Honda Civic Si 2017 - small car with 200 horsepower

The new generation Civic Si was introduced to global customers via online video and will be sold in the US from May with prices starting at $20,000.

Both the Civic Si coupe and sedan were introduced to the world by Honda via a video posted on the company's YouTube channel. This is also the first Si model to use a turbocharged engine and is positioned just below the Type R, targeting customers who are passionate about driving and daily driving.

The Civic Si is powered by a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine with electronic fuel injection and variable valve timing technology that produces 205 horsepower at 5,700 rpm and 260 Nm of torque from 2,100 to 5,000 rpm. A 6-speed manual transmission is standard.

The new Civic Si is lighter than the previous generation and has a more rigid chassis, upgraded from its predecessor to exploit better performance. Upgrades include active electric power steering, a sport suspension with active dampers, a limited-slip differential, 12.3-inch front brake calipers and 235/40 tires on 18-inch wheels with optional sportier tires.

The 2017 Civic Si also features a two-tone exhaust located in the center of the rear bumper, a large rear spoiler with integrated LED brake lights. The interior features sport seats with contrasting red stitching. The car has two driving modes: Normal and Sport. Sport mode adjusts the suspension, throttle response and steering wheel to provide a sportier driving feel.

The EX-T Civic sedan and EX-T Civic coupe come with dual-zone automatic climate control, heated front seats with rain sensors, and a new 7-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. Meanwhile, all Si models get a 450-watt, 10-speaker AM/FM/CD audio system with SiriusXM radio, HD radio, and Pandora.

In the Civic lineup, the Si fills the gap between the Sport and Type R. The Honda Civic Si sedan and coupe go on sale in the U.S. in May and have a suggested retail price of $20,000.
