Pilgrimage 'bringing homeland to comrades'

(Baonghean.vn) -The pilgrimage "Bringing the homeland to comrades" with the wish "If we cannot bring our fallen comrades back to their homeland, then bring the homeland to our comrades".

On April 26 and 27, more than 320 relatives and war veterans of Regiment 27 - Trieu Hai hero gathered in Nam Anh commune (Nam Dan) to carry out the 5th pilgrimage "Bringing homeland to comrades" - 2017, initiated by poet and journalist Le Ba Duong.

Nam Anh Commune is honored to be the place where Regiment 27 was established on February 8, 1968. During the resistance war against the US, the Regiment participated in major campaigns: Mau Than 1968, Route 9 in southern Laos, Quang Tri Liberation Campaign 1972, Ho Chi Minh Campaign 1975 and achieved many outstanding feats.

Participating in the 5th pilgrimage “Bringing the homeland to comrades” were over 320 relatives and veterans of Regiment 27 - Trieu Hai from the provinces and cities: Nghe An, Hanoi, Hai Duong, Thai Binh, Quang Binh and the southern provinces. The program took place over 7 days with 16 locations.

In Nam Anh commune, the war veterans' delegation carried out the programs: "Welcoming soldiers back to the village", "Military and civilian meal", lighting candles and offering incense at the martyrs' memorial of the commune, offering flowers at the stele of Regiment 27 in the commune People's Committee campus, performing arts, receiving Nam Dan sacred land and water, and awarding the scholarship fund "past nurtures future". The delegation was welcomed at Nam Anh commune People's Committee, staying and eating at households in hamlets 5, 6 and Military School of Military Region 4.

The pilgrimage "Bringing the homeland to comrades" of the 27th Regiment's veterans is not only a return to the old battlefield of the veterans to show gratitude to those who have fallen, the people, the countryside that have embraced and nurtured the Regiment, but also has the meaning of reminding the younger generation about love for the Fatherland, about traditional values ​​built with the blood and bones of their fathers./.
