Indonesia is about to become the first Southeast Asian country to have the opportunity to own Russia's advanced Su-35 fighter jet.

A contract to supply several types of Russian combat helicopters to the Indonesian Army is also under consideration and may be signed in the near future. The Su-35 is a Russian-made modification of the Su-27 fighter and has been in service with the Russian Air Force since 2014. It is a single-seat fighter with a crew of one, 22 meters long, with a wingspan of 15.3 meters and a total wing area of 62 square meters. The aircraft uses two Stur 117S engines, allowing it to take off with a maximum weight of 34.5 tons.
The maximum speed of this multi-role aircraft Su-35 is about 2780 km/h equivalent to Mach 2.25. The ceiling reaches 18,000 meters, the maximum flight range is 4500 meters.
