A poignant tribute concert to Trinh Cong Son was held in Vinh City.

(Baonghean.vn) -A deeply moving concert titled "16 Years Remembering Trinh Cong Son" was organized by Trinh Cong Son's music lovers in Vinh City on the evening of April 1st to commemorate the anniversary of his passing.

The concert held on the evening of April 1st featured not only professional singers but also many amateur artists from within and outside the province. These included journalists, teachers, and students who share a passion for Trinh Cong Son's music and have been involved with this genre for many years.

Through heartfelt and emotional performances, the audience at the concert was able to relive 16 timeless love songs by the late composer Trinh Cong Son, such as: "Calling the Four Seasons," "Fading Away," "Four Seasons Changing Leaves," "Thank You," "Let the Sun Sleep Peacefully," etc.

In particular, with the two songs "Like a Farewell" and "Lullaby for You, My Dearest," singer Mai Huong (daughter of Meritorious Artist Song Thao) brought profound and emotional moments to the program.

Although she lives and works in Hanoi, when invited to participate in the concert, singer Mai Huong (daughter of Meritorious Artist Song Thao) joined as the opening performer. She said: "Like a Farewell" somewhat clearly reflects the spirit of Trinh Cong Son - an artist who always carried within him a sense of bewilderment and anxiety because he felt the heartbreak and separation even in reunions, along with the precariousness of happiness, love, and human existence.

Beginning with this song, it's meant to convey to everyone that separation is the nature of life. So, live each moment together to the fullest, live as if you'll die tomorrow.

As one of the organizers of the concert, journalist Tran Hoai (from the People's Army Newspaper) shared: "Each person's life is marked by two important days: the day of birth and the day of death. When talking about Trinh Cong Son, people often mention the day he passed away, returning to dust. I find that very few people are remembered in such a way on the day of their passing."

That is why we – a group of residents of Vinh City working in various professions – feel and want to preserve the days we are living here through memories. None of us are professional singers; we have unanimously organized this concert as a tribute to the highly respected composer. We are grateful to him and remember him. Because his songs still provide us with many essential things, no less important than food, clothing, and shelter!

Let us give each other everything, both happiness and sorrow, through sharing, empathy, and understanding. There, we will find the immensity of human compassion.
