Ky Son youth actively develop economy and protect the Fatherland

Diligent, hard-working and eager to learn are the comments of Pha Danh Commune Youth Union Secretary Luong Van Tac for Youth Union member Luong Van May in Pieng Hom village. Born in 1985, although his family's economic situation was not very good, Luong Van May studied hard, graduated from high school and passed the entrance exam to a secondary school and studied Electricity. After finishing school, May returned to Pieng Hom village, Pha Danh commune with the determination to start a career in her homeland.
Luong Van May worked as a worker at Nam Can Hydropower Plant and saved up capital to invest in livestock farming to develop his family's economy. Talking about his business idea, Luong Van May said: "Participating in Youth Union activities, receiving support and help from the District Youth Union and other union members in the commune, I boldly invested in raising goats, cows and local black chickens. Now I have 25 goats, 9 cows, more than 100 chickens, ducks and geese. I also invested in planting corn, bananas, cassava and xoan trees on 1 hectare of land. Each year, the farm brings in about 100 million VND in revenue." Luong Van May's livestock farm is one of three economic development models of Ky Son youth that has just received support from the Provincial Youth Union with a loan of 50 million VND, interest rate of 0.1% for investment and development...

Also considered an effective economic model with development potential and supported by the Provincial Youth Union with a loan of 50 million VND like Luong Van May, in Ba village of Huu Kiem commune, member Loc Van May focuses on investing in raising pigs and cows and opening a small business. Currently, Loc Van May has 40 pigs and 6 cows. When asked what he will do with the additional 50 million VND loan, Loc Van May said he will invest in buying more breeding pigs and renovating the barn system, increasing his income to over 100 million VND/year compared to the present.
The whole Ky Son district has 50 effective economic models owned by young people, with an income of 50 - 300 million VND/year. Typical examples include the ginger and Shan snow tea growing model of the Na Ngoi Commune Youth Union, which was recognized as a skillful mass mobilization model at the provincial level in 2015; the buffalo and cow raising models of Mua Ba La, Mua Ba Lau (Lu Thanh village), Vu Ba Cu, Vu Pa Xong (Huoi Giang 3 village), all in Tay Son commune. Each household raises 10 - 35 buffaloes and cows, earning an annual income of 30 - 100 million VND. The forest planting and goat raising model of Lau Ba Bo in Nam Can commune earns an annual income of 15 - 20 million VND. The buffalo raising model of Moong Van Tu in Bao Thang commune earns an income of 50 million VND/year. Vi Van Hai’s pig and goat raising and grocery selling model in Chieu Luu commune generates an income of 96 million VND/year. Xong Ba Re’s tea growing model (Na Ngoi commune) generates an income of 75 million VND/year. Ly Ba Co’s model of raising 24 cows (Huoi Tu commune) generates an income of 80 million VND/year…
It can be said that economic development is one of the major movements that has brought many results of the youth union members of Ky Son district in recent years, contributing positively to helping the youth of the district establish their careers and build their homeland. This is also the orientation that Ky Son District Youth Union will focus on in the coming term.
Protect sovereignty and border security
Every year, the Standing Committee of Ky Son District Youth Union has proactively advised and issued a Program to coordinate with border posts stationed in the district to promote the vanguard role of young people in participating in building and protecting the Fatherland; coordinate with the police force in preventing and combating drugs; organize activities to protect national security, maintain political security and social order, maintain the effective operation of the "Youth Shock Brigade to Keep Peace on the Border" and "Youth Self-Management Teams", build crime reporting mailboxes, etc.

During the term, the grassroots level organized 37 propaganda sessions, mobilizing 30,839 youth union members and the masses to participate in drug prevention and control, 20,649 households pledged to the People's Committee of the commune not to violate the law, not to participate in social evils, organized 1,555 meetings of the Youth Union, Association, and Team branches integrating propaganda content on crime prevention and control and drug abuse for young people. 21/21 communes and towns established self-governing Youth Groups, built crime reporting mailboxes; school unions maintained the model of safe school gates well. Organized 10 programs on drug prevention and control communication, legal education for youth union members in the communes of Huu Lap, Huu Kiem, Bac Ly... Coordinated the fight against and eradicated 52 complicated hotspots, 180 drug retail points; discovered many drug trafficking cases, seized over 3,000 synthetic drug pills and many exhibits...
From 2013 to present, the "Youth Volunteers - Keeping Peace on the Border" Clubs in border communes have organized 35 propaganda sessions with the participation of about 9,950 Youth Union members and the masses. Through these propaganda sessions, more than 6,138 people signed a commitment not to violate the law, providing 234 valuable sources of crime reporting information to the district police force. |
Na Loi is a border commune, the Youth Union of the commune has 9 branches with 224 members. The activities of the "Youth Volunteers - Keeping Peace on the Border" Club and the "Self-managed Youth Group" of Na Loi commune are always highly appreciated by the District Youth Union and authorities at all levels. Every year, the "Youth Volunteers - Keeping Peace on the Border" Club of Na Loi commune has organized 10 propaganda sessions on awareness and understanding of the law, building habits and lifestyles, working according to the Constitution and the law with thousands of participants; was awarded the Certificate of Outstanding "Youth Volunteers - Keeping Peace on the Border" Club by the Youth Union of Nghe An province.
In Nam Can commune, for many years, the commune's standing military branch has been maintained with members mainly being union members and young people, coordinating with the Youth Union of Nam Can International Border Guard Station to implement youth programs and tasks such as: patrolling to protect the border every 3 months; activities of village-to-village friendship on both sides of the border; coordinating to resolve security and order incidents in the area. In addition, the Youth Union of Nam Can International Border Guard Station also regularly organizes free medical examinations and medicine distribution; gives gifts to students of Nam Can primary and secondary schools, etc.

Regarding the shock activities to maintain security and order, and keep the border peaceful of Ky Son youth, Ms. Xa Thi Xi - Secretary of Ky Son District Youth Union said: "The Ky Son District Youth Union Congress for the 2017 - 2022 term set the target of 100% of commune and town Youth Unions effectively maintaining the "Crime reporting mailbox"; "Youth shock club to keep the border peaceful"; establishing a drug prevention and control propaganda team, self-managed youth groups, youth shock teams to protect the environment and protect the forest. Strive to organize at least 1 career orientation forum each year, introducing jobs for young people and students. Annually coordinate vocational training for 100 - 120 youth union members, introduce jobs for 70 youth union members to work domestically, at least 8 - 10 youth union members to work abroad. Strive to have 100% of commune and town Youth Union members participate in managing the entrusted loan capital of the Bank for Social Policies by the end of the term, increasing the total The loan capital of youth in the whole district increased to 25 billion VND; 5 new economic development models led by youth were established with income of over 50 million VND/year.
