Misconceptions
Your facial skin should feel soft after using facial cleanser.
When washing your face, the cleansing ingredients in facial cleanser help remove dead skin cells and clean away excess oil. Therefore, after using facial cleanser, your skin may feel slightly tight, and even a little sticky to the touch. This is perfectly normal and a sign that your skin is clean.
Facial cleansers containing a lot of fatty ingredients will give you the feeling of soft skin, but this is not good at all because these moisturizing cleansers not only fail to clean the oil layer on the skin, but the fatty ingredients also clog pores, potentially causing acne and skin inflammation.

Facial cleansers should have multiple functions:
Women often look for facial cleansers with multiple functions such as cleansing, brightening, and moisturizing... but these multi-functional cleansers are not good for the skin. The main function of a facial cleanser is to clean; combining too many functions at once weakens the cleansing function. Furthermore, too many nourishing ingredients in one bottle of cleanser can easily irritate the skin, causing allergic reactions or folliculitis.
Wash your face with a clean, new towel.
Using a washcloth only cleans the surface of the skin and cannot remove dirt deep within the pores. Rubbing a cotton washcloth vigorously against the face creates friction that can irritate the skin.
Hot water cleanses the skin better:
When washing your face with hot water, the blood vessels under the skin dilate, pores widen, the skin becomes drier, and wrinkles form faster. It's best to wash your face with water at 35°C and then rinse with cold water. At 35°C, the pores open, allowing for the removal of accumulated waste, then the cold water causes the pores to contract, rehydrating the skin and making it soft and smooth.
Apply moisturizer immediately after washing your face.
That's a bad habit and over time it can cause sagging and loose skin. Your skin has already been burdened with tons of cosmetics all day, so after washing your face it's time to rest. Therefore, let your skin air dry naturally. After 1-2 hours, continue your skincare routine with moisturizer.
The more you wash your face, the cleaner it gets.
Washing your face too many times can disrupt the skin's moisture balance and damage the epidermis, making your skin drier and losing its natural radiance. Therefore, remember not to wash your face more than 3 times a day.
Wash every area of your face thoroughly:
That's an unscientific habit; the T-zone on the face has a high concentration of sebaceous glands, so this area is always oilier than other areas of the skin. Therefore, you should pay more attention to thoroughly cleaning this area.
Facial massage once a week
Using a toothbrush to massage your face is an extremely simple and effective beauty secret. This method not only makes your skin brighter but also helps acne gradually disappear.
Prepare:
- An electric toothbrush with evenly spaced, short bristles and very soft bristles.
- Moisturizing creams that soften the skin or creams with exfoliating properties.
Perform:
- Wash your face thoroughly. Apply the cream to your entire face.
- Next, use the electric toothbrush to gently massage the entire cheek, chin, and nose area. Note that you should rotate the brush in a circular motion, focusing mainly on the T-zone. Rinse your face with clean water and let your skin dry naturally.
- Finally, apply toner and gently massage with your hands to firm the skin.
