Hail and tornado appeared in Nghe An

(Baonghean.vn) - At around 5:00 p.m. on April 11, 2017, in some places in Ky Son, Nghe An, there was hail and whirlwind.

A resident of Tat Thoong village, Chieu Luu, Ky Son - Mr. Luong Van Quy said: At 5 pm, the sun was shining brightly. Suddenly, the wind blew and rocks as big as thumbs were thrown to the ground.

All the villagers managed to run into their houses because the falling stones were quite thick and large, which could easily cause injury if you stand outside. We were all worried about the damage to our crops and houses, but fortunately the hailstorm only lasted for 3 to 4 minutes, so there was no major damage.”

At the same time, hail also occurred in Muong Long commune, but according to local people, the stones were smaller (as big as a fingertip) and did not cause significant damage.

In My Ly, 4 houses and 1 school in Hoa Ly village had their roofs blown off. In Huoi Tu, according to statistics by 6 p.m. the same day, about 4 to 5 houses had their roofs blown off.

Previously, on the afternoon of April 10, some localities in Ky Son also experienced whirlwinds and hail, however there was no damage to people or other property.
