The Investigation Police Agency (C46), Ministry of Public Security has just sent a document to the Government Electronic Information Portal to inform about the expanded investigation of the Trinh Xuan Thanh case.

The Investigation Police Agency (Ministry of Public Security) has issued a decision to prosecute and temporarily detain Do Van Hong, former Chairman of the Board of Directors and General Director of PVC-KB Company and Nguyen Manh Tien, former Deputy General Director of PVC Corporation.

Accordingly, the Ministry of Public Security's Investigation Police Agency is urgently conducting an expanded investigation into the criminal case against Trinh Xuan Thanh, former Chairman of the Board of Directors; Vu Duc Thuan, former General Director of the Vietnam Oil and Gas Construction Joint Stock Corporation (PVC Corporation) for the crime of "Embezzlement of property" under Article 278 of the Penal Code and the crime of "Intentionally violating State regulations on economic management causing serious consequences" under Article 165 of the Penal Code occurring at PVC Corporation.

On March 31, the Ministry of Public Security's Investigation Police Agency issued a decision to prosecute and temporarily detain two more suspects, including Do Van Hong, born in 1967, former Chairman of the Board of Directors and General Director of PVC-KB Company; and Nguyen Manh Tien, born in 1966, former Deputy General Director of PVC Corporation.

The above defendants were prosecuted for the crime of "Intentionally violating State regulations on economic management causing serious consequences (complicity)" as prescribed in Article 165 of the Penal Code.

Currently, the Ministry of Public Security's Investigation Police Agency is urgently conducting a thorough investigation, expanding to clarify the nature of the case and applying measures according to law to recover assets for the State.
