Garbage attacks Highway 48
(Baonghean.vn) – Recently, local residents and traffic participants have expressed their frustration at the appearance of open-air landfills along National Highway 48.
This situation not only spoils the beauty of residential areas when most localities are recognized as meeting new rural standards, but also pollutes the environment and affects people's traffic.

Along National Highway 48, through the communes of Quynh Thang and Quynh Chau (Quynh Luu district), dozens of "huge" residential landfills have sprung up.
Garbage dumps stretching for dozens of meters spread out across the road with all kinds of waste such as: plastic bags, dead animals, rotten vegetables... all piled up or packed into sacks and thrown in the middle of the road.
According to people living near this area, these "huge" garbage dumps were all "created" by the people themselves, one person followed another to bring garbage here and dump it, and gradually it became a garbage dump.

On sunny and windy days, the stench of garbage wafted into the surrounding houses, making everyone feel like a terrible torture. Even eating while smelling the garbage.
On rainy days, dirty water from the landfill flows everywhere and seeps into the underground water system.
Ms. Le Van Tien - a traffic participant on this route said: "This road used to be very clear and clean. However, recently, for unknown reasons, the household waste of many surrounding households has been dumped on the roadside.
Every time it is sunny, the smell is foul, especially when there is a strong wind, the plastic bags are blown all over the road, very dangerous for passersby. On rainy days, the water stagnates along the roadside ditches, attracting a lot of flies and mosquitoes.
It is known that this situation has been going on for many months now but there is no sign of the authorities coming to resolve it. Therefore, people still carelessly dump garbage while traffic participants every time they pass by here have the opportunity to suffer from the stench of these garbage piles.
