In 1958, an Algerian military delegation also visited Vietnam and was warmly and thoughtfully received by President Ho Chi Minh.
It was also out of affection for President Ho Chi Minh and the Vietnamese people that the Algerian government built Ho Chi Minh Avenue (Avenue du Président Ho Chi Minh) in the Rais Hamidou district of Algiers.
This Ho Chi Minh Boulevard is 3km long and runs along the city's East-West axis. It's a beautiful and important thoroughfare, becoming a gathering place for overseas Vietnamese on National Day or President Ho Chi Minh's birthday…

The people of Africa, including the people of Mozambique, deeply respect and admire President Ho Chi Minh. Based on this historical relationship and fine tradition, immediately after independence in 1977, the late first President of the People's Republic of Mozambique (now the Republic of Mozambique), Samora Machel, decided to name an avenue in the capital, Maputo, after him, calling it Ho Chi Minh Avenue.
Ho Chi Minh Boulevard, over 1km long, runs past the City Hall of Maputo. This road also intersects several major and famous streets of the capital, such as Karl Marx Street and Lenin Street. The boulevard is named after President Ho Chi Minh – the beloved leader of the Vietnamese people – in Maputo, and is lined with the characteristic acacia trees of Maputo, a city known as "prosperous, beautiful, clean, safe, and friendly," or "the Pearl of the Indian Ocean."
