The Government Office has just issued a document conveying the direction of Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam to rectify the licensing of musical works and performing arts activities.

Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam requested the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to seriously implement the Deputy Prime Minister's conclusion at the meeting with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Ministry of Justice and the Government Office on April 26, 2017.

Specifically, the Deputy Prime Minister directed the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to review the system of legal documents on performing arts activities and propose amendments in accordance with development requirements.

Songs that have become familiar and popular in reality, if their lyrics do not violate national customs or national interests, do not need a license for distribution, regardless of the location or time of composition.

The Deputy Prime Minister also requested the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to strengthen direction, rectify and improve the management and law enforcement capacity of the Department of Performing Arts.
