VPF 'blows the whistle' and considers fining the Chairman of Quang Nam Club for 'slip of the tongue'
V-League Organizing Committee rejected the complaint of Quang Nam Club after the 0-1 defeat to HAGL in round 11, and considered the punishment for the club's President.
Although linesman Phan Viet Thai admitted his wrong decision in recognizing Chau Ngoc Quang's offside goal, helping HAGL defeat Quang Nam 1-0 at Pleiku Stadium in round 11 of V-League 2017, VPF affirmed that this result will remain the same.
According to the official dispatch sent by the V-League Organizing Committee to Quang Nam Club, the result of HAGL winning 1-0 against Quang Nam will not change, and the complaint of the central team will be rejected.

“Based on section 3.1 of Law V of the current football competition regulations, the referee's decisions in all situations related to the match (including whether to recognize or not to recognize the goal and the match result) are final. Therefore, Quang Nam Club's complaint about HAGL's goal situation is invalid, the match result will still be recognized as 1-0 in favor of HAGL as decided by the referee", the VPF's official dispatch clearly stated.

Players and coaching staff of Quang Nam Club reacted to the referee after Chau Ngoc Quang's (HAGL) offside goal was recognized. |
VPF emphasized: "In particular, in cases of violations of regulations on inappropriate statements related to the incident, causing negative effects on the image of the tournament in particular and Vietnamese football in general, the tournament's Organizing Committee will synthesize and transfer necessary documents to relevant departments and agencies to consider appropriate handling according to current regulations."
Meanwhile, speaking to the press, Head of HAGL Club Nguyen Tan Anh expressed surprise at the strong reactions of the coaching staff and especially the Chairman of Quang Nam Club Le Nguyen Hong.
“After the match, Mr. Hoang Van Phuc (Quang Nam coach) reacted. It is normal to react in a match affected by the referee and the press has also published this. After that goal, the two teams continued to play hard, enthusiastically and remained calm and peaceful. Personally, I think that a match like that does not require a strong reaction. It was a normal match like any other match but there were reactions beyond my thinking. I was really surprised,” Mr. Nguyen Tan Anh shared./.
