8 car models with deep discounts you can buy right now.

With popular car models seeing significant price reductions of up to hundreds of millions of VND, many people are being motivated to buy a new car for their family.

In just the first two months of 2017, eight car brands in the Vietnamese market drastically reduced the prices of their products, including both domestically assembled and fully imported vehicles.

Honda

Honda Accord.

Honda was the first brand to announce a price reduction for the Accord (which is imported from Thailand), with a discount of 80 million VND.

The Honda Accord was one of the first models to have its price adjusted in the Vietnamese market, right from the beginning of January, after import taxes from the ASEAN region were officially further reduced.

In the Vietnamese market, the new price of the Honda Accord 2.4L will be 1.39 billion VND, a reduction of 80 million VND compared to the previous price.

The 2016 version of the D-segment sedan was launched in the Vietnamese market last May with a price of 1.47 billion VND. The imported model features many changes in interior and exterior design.

The 2016 Accord uses a 2.4L i-VTEC engine paired with a 5-speed automatic transmission. Sporty paddle shifters and cruise control are integrated into the steering wheel.

Toyota

The Lexus luxury car line also saw simultaneous price reductions.

In early February, Toyota announced price reductions for a range of imported models. Specifically, according to Toyota Vietnam's new price list, the Yaris G is priced at 642 million VND, a reduction of 47 million VND; the Toyota Yaris E is priced at 592 million VND, a reduction of 44 million VND compared to the previous price.

The Land Cruiser Prado TX-L saw significant price reductions, with its price from February dropping to 2.167 billion VND, a decrease of 164 million VND; the Land Cruiser VX is priced at 3.65 billion VND, a reduction of 70 million VND.

Besides these two models, the range of luxury cars from the Lexus brand (imported and distributed by Toyota Vietnam) has also seen simultaneous price reductions. Accordingly, except for the Lexus ES250 and GS200t which retain their original prices, most Lexus models have seen price drops, with the highest reduction reaching over 200 million VND.

Mazda

Mazda 3

Retail prices for Mazda models in Vietnam have also been significantly reduced. Among Mazda's products, only the new 2017 Mazda6 and the 3.2L Mazda BT-50 haven't seen price reductions. Most others have had their prices adjusted. Of these, the Mazda3, Mazda CX-5, and the older Mazda6 models are offered at relatively good prices.

Compared to the previous price before any promotional programs were implemented, the price of the older Mazda6 model still holds the record for the most discounted price among Japanese brand vehicles. Specifically, the Mazda6 2.0L (older model) was priced at 840 million VND in February, a reduction of 75 million VND. The Mazda6 2.5L is priced at 929 million VND, a reduction of up to 140 million VND.

Mazda CX-5 models are seeing price reductions of 35-50 million VND across all versions. Meanwhile, despite being the best-selling model in the C-segment, the Mazda3 is also receiving discounts ranging from 25-45 million VND depending on the version. The Mazda BT-50 2.2 MT and AT pickup trucks are seeing slight price reductions of over 10 million VND.

With their current retail price adjustments, Kia and Mazda have become two brands with very competitive pricing in the Vietnamese market.

Kia

Similar to Mazda, Kia also offers discounts on its two best-selling models, the Morning and Cerato, although the discounts are lower than Mazda's. The Morning's list price is reduced by about 3 million VND, while the Cerato's is reduced by 5 million VND. The top-of-the-line Cerato 2.0 is priced at 691 million VND in March, not including any discounts from individual dealerships. Many customers say they can buy the Cerato 2.0 for around 681 million VND, which is only slightly higher than a B-segment car.

Nissan

Nissan Sunny XL

In the sales race in the C-segment crossover market, Nissan is determined to use the X-Trail to put pressure on the CX-5. Accordingly, the X-Trail is being discounted by up to 100 million VND, with 70 million VND in cash and 30 million VND in gifts. In addition, other Nissan models are also being discounted. The Sunny is discounted by 10 million VND, the Teana by 10-20 million VND, the Juke by 10 million VND, and the Navara by 15-30 million VND depending on the version.

Mitsubishi

Mitsubishi is implementing the Fukubukuro program with gift packages worth 6-18 million VND for customers. Meanwhile, each dealership offers even deeper discounts. For example, the Mirage can be discounted by up to 40 million VND, including 30 million VND in cash and 10 million VND in fuel vouchers. The Attrage, Outlander, and Pajero Sport also receive discounts of around 30-40 million VND.

Ford

Ford Everest

Ford Vietnam has also just announced price reductions for the Everest and Focus models. Accordingly, the Everest 2.2L AT 4x2 Trend and Everest 2.2L AT 4x2 Titanium versions now have new prices of VND 1.185 billion and VND 1.265 billion respectively, a reduction of VND 64 million compared to before. The new Focus Trend EcoBoost version benefits from a price reduction of VND 51 million, from VND 699 million down to VND 648 million.

Peugeot

Peugeot

The French car brand Peugeot, with 6 models currently distributed in Vietnam – 208L, 2008, 408 Deluxe, 3008, 308 Allute, and 508 – also had their prices adjusted. Five out of six models saw significant price reductions.

Specifically, the 2008 model has a new selling price of 1.7 billion VND (a decrease of 70 million VND compared to the previous price). The 508 and 308 Allute models have a price reduction of 60 million VND; the 208 FL has a reduction of 30 million VND. Conversely, the Peugeot 3008 has increased from 1.17 billion VND to 1.19 billion VND (20 million VND compared to the old price).
