The ceremony was attended by Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh; Head of the Central Internal Affairs Commission Phan Dinh Trac; leaders and former leaders of Binh Dinh province and a large number of people in the province.
The Nguyen Sinh Sac - Nguyen Tat Thanh monument is made of bronze, 15.5m high, placed in a space of more than 3,100 m2.
Sculptor Vu Dai Binh, the creator of the statue, said that this is the only statue in the country depicting Uncle Ho standing with his father, Nguyen Sinh Sac. The statue has the following layout: Nguyen Sinh Sac stands in the North, Nguyen Tat Thanh stands in the South, father and son looking out towards the East Sea.
According to many documents, Nguyen Tat Thanh followed his father, the Vice-Chancellor Nguyen Sinh Sac, to Binh Dinh during his time as the District Chief of Binh Khe. The event that had a strong impact on Nguyen Tat Thanh's thinking was the Binh Khe incident, when his beloved father was demoted. At the age of 20, realizing more clearly than ever the dark, deadlocked situation of the country, Nguyen Tat Thanh made the important choice of crossing the ocean to the West to find a way to save the country.
Not only is it the place where a major turning point in Nguyen Tat Thanh's life took place, Binh Khe, Binh Dinh is also the place where the father and son of the Vice-Chancellor Nguyen Sinh Sac lived their last days together and the historic farewell between father and son took place, and then Nguyen Tat Thanh embarked on a journey of thousands of miles to find a way to save the people and the country and never saw his beloved father again.
The monument represents the historic farewell between father and son. This meeting is said to be the last between Uncle Ho and his beloved father in Vietnam, because when he returned to the country in 1941 after 30 years of wandering, Nguyen Sinh Sac had passed away.
Secretary of Binh Dinh Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Thanh Tung said that the Nguyen Sinh Sac-Nguyen Tat Thanh Monument was built to record the impression of Uncle Ho's youth when he was troubled by the pain of losing his country, yearning for a noble truth, finding a way to save the country and save the people. The monument is the pride of Binh Dinh people, at the same time a highlight for the city and a place to attract tourists when coming to Binh Dinh.
