Nghe An will have direct flights to China.

(Baonghean.vn) - The destination for the flight route is still under research and survey, and is expected to be Yunnan or Sichuan.

This information was provided by Mr. Nguyen Manh Cuong, Director of the Nghe An Department of Tourism. Mr. Cuong also stated that this is one of the initial results achieved in the Nghe An tourism promotion program in China, which took place over 10 days, starting from May 10th.

The destination for the flight route is being considered between two cities: Kunming in Yunnan and Chengdu in Sichuan. The survey will begin this coming July. The proposed flight format is charter.

Kunming is the capital of Yunnan Province with a population of over 6.6 million people. The city is also known as Chuncheng (Spring City) and has a history of over 2,400 years. Some of Kunming's famous tourist attractions include: the Stone Forest, Huading Temple, the Yunnan Provincial Ethnic Culture Village, and the Daguanlou Park.

Chengdu is the capital of Sichuan province, with a population of over 14.4 million. It is one of China's important transportation and trade centers. Some popular tourist attractions in Chengdu include: the Giant Panda Reserve, the over 2,000-year-old Dujiangyan irrigation system, and the ancient Kuan Zhai Street dating back to the Ming Dynasty.

China is currently the leading source market for tourists to Vietnam. In 2016, Chinese tourists accounted for 27% of the total international visitors to Vietnam, a significant increase compared to 2015. Nghe An province has identified this as one of its key markets for tourism development.
