Bringing 154 documents about Hoang Sa and Truong Sa to the countryside

(Baonghean.vn) - For the first time, documents affirming Vietnam's undeniable sovereignty over the two archipelagos of Truong Sa and Hoang Sa have been brought to display in Thanh Chuong's hometown (Nghe An).

154 documents are divided into 5 parts including: Volume of documents issued by the Vietnamese feudal court from the 17th century to the early 20th century; introduction of the collection of ancient maps published by Vietnam, the West and China related to the sovereignty of the two archipelagos of Hoang Sa and Truong Sa of Vietnam; introduction of the process of exercising sovereignty over the two archipelagos of Hoang Sa and Truong Sa before 1975; reenactment of the event of the East Sea being in turmoil when China placed the Haiyang 981 drilling rig violating the exclusive economic zone of the sea in 2014; images of the beloved Truong Sa archipelago are displayed at the Thanh Chuong District Cultural Center for people to visit.

On the morning of April 25, at the Thanh Chuong District Cultural Center, the Provincial People's Committee held the opening ceremony of the map exhibition and document display "Hoang Sa, Truong Sa of Vietnam - Historical and legal evidence".

Attending the ceremony were comrades Doan Ngoc Son - Deputy Chief of Politics, Military Region IV Command, Le Ngoc Hoa - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and representatives of provincial departments, branches and sectors and Thanh Chuong district.

The exhibition of maps and documents about Hoang Sa and Truong Sa will contribute to raising awareness, affirming the spirit of solidarity, consciousness and responsibility of the people of Nghe An province in general, Thanh Chuong district in particular, especially the youth in the cause of preserving and protecting the sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland.

At the same time, it reminds every local resident to always be grateful to the generations of fathers and brothers who sacrificed to protect the sacred sovereignty of the Fatherland. The historical and legal evidence at this exhibition affirms Vietnam's undeniable sovereignty over the two archipelagos of Truong Sa and Hoang Sa.

According to comrade Le Ngoc Hoa - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, this is also an opportunity for us to continue to affirm our determination to protect the sacred and inviolable sea and islands of the Fatherland; to propagate to raise awareness of sectors, levels and all people about the position, role and potential of Vietnam's sea and islands in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also hopes that from this exhibition, every sector, every level, every citizen, every student in Thanh Chuong district will be an active propagandist on Vietnam's sovereignty over borders, seas and islands, raising their awareness and responsibility towards the Fatherland.

Strengthen and diversify propaganda and education activities to raise awareness of protecting national sovereignty, especially sovereignty over the Hoang Sa and Truong Sa archipelagos.

Fight and expose the plots and tricks of hostile and opportunistic forces that take advantage of environmental pollution and disputes in the East Sea to distort, incite, and complicate the security and order situation, affecting the socio-economic development in the area.

Comrade Le Ngoc Hoa emphasized: Promoting the tradition of the homeland, each citizen of Thanh Chuong in particular, Nghe An in general, needs to deeply realize that: national sovereignty is sacred and inviolable. Protecting sovereignty is the duty of every citizen. Currently, thousands of children of Nghe An province, including many children of Thanh Chuong district, are present on the archipelagos to protect the sacred sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland.
