Former Inter star receives suspension for abandoning match
Instead of having his yellow card for his racist protest removed, midfielder Sulley Muntari had to serve a punishment from the Italian Football Federation.
Muntari received a yellow card when he asked the referee to stop the match between Cagliari and Pescara on April 29. The reason he made the request was because he heard a group of home fans making racist remarks towards him.

The yellow card penalty made the star ofPescarabecame more frustrated. After the referee's decision, Muntari left the field, leaving 10 teammates to play the final minutes.
On May 2, the Italian Football Federation's Disciplinary Committee not only did not remove the card but also decided to approve the penalty. This card, along with the previous penalties, forced the player wearing the number 13 shirt to sit out the upcoming match against Crotone.
The disciplinary committee also did not punish Cagliari for racist fans. According to the assessment, the group of condemned fans only consisted of 10 people and was not large enough to punish the club.
