Major South Korean newspapers this morning (March 13) unanimously criticized the reaction of impeached President Park Geun-hye to the Constitutional Court's official removal from office due to a corruption scandal.

After leaving the Blue House (the presidential residence), Park Geun-hye issued a statement saying she believed the truth would eventually be revealed, a comment seen as a protest against the court's ruling.

Major newspapers featured on their front pages a photo of impeached President Park Geun-hye leaving the Presidential Palace for her private residence in Gangnam District.

South Korea's leading daily newspaper, Chosun Ilbo, commented that the country's future can only change if President Park Geun-hye declares acceptance of the court's ruling.

The JoongAng Ilbo newspaper questioned whether Park Geun-hye was trying to divide the country.

Opposition parties also argue that President Park Geun-hye needs to quickly declare her acceptance of the Constitutional Court's ruling to ease social tensions. Her supporters are currently planning to continue the protests.

In a related development, South Korean media reported that prosecutors may question Park Geun-hye for the first time this weekend to determine whether she received bribes from large corporations.
