Opening of the 3rd Session, 14th National Assembly
(Baonghean.vn)- At 9:00 a.m. this morning, May 22, in Hanoi, the 14th National Assembly opened its 3rd session. At this session, the National Assembly will increase the questioning time from 2.5 days to 3 days.

At the opening session, National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan delivered the opening speech. Authorized by the Prime Minister, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh reported on the additional assessment of the results of the implementation of the socio-economic development plan and the state budget in 2016; and the implementation of the plan in the first months of this year.

The new point of the 3rd session is that the question and answer session will be extended from 2.5 days to 3 days. Accordingly, the question and answer session will last from June 14-16. The National Assembly will spend more than 60% of its time reviewing and approving 13 draft laws, including the Penal Code, 5 draft resolutions and giving opinions on 5 draft laws.

Among the draft laws expected to be passed are important draft laws such as: Law on Support for Small and Medium Enterprises; Law on Planning; Amended Law on Tourism; Amended Law on Management and Use of State Assets, etc.
Among the bills submitted to the National Assembly for initial comments, notable are the Law on Public Debt Management (amended) and the Law on amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Credit Institutions.
The National Assembly will spend about 6.5 days reviewing, discussing and deciding on the Government's reports on socio-economic and budget issues...
The session is scheduled to close on June 21, last 22 days and is closed on Saturdays.
