Defeating Lazio 2-0 in the final, Max Allegri and his team completed the first step in their plan to win the treble this season.

Goals: Dani Alves 12', Bonucci 25'.

Juventus are the first team to win the Italian Cup three times in a row, continuing their dominance domestically. Max Allegri's team are just one win away from winning Serie A for the sixth year in a row. They are one of two teams that will play the final game of the season in Cardiff, Wales, along with Real Madrid, to determine the Champions League winner.

The Old Lady sealed the game early on with two goals from defenders Dani Alves and Leonardo Bonucci. Although Lazio created chances after that, the game never left the defending champions' control.

Alex Sandro's powerful pass gave Dani Alves the chance to volley the ball to open the scoring. In this situation, the Lazio defense allowed the Brazilian defender to receive the ball and shoot freely.

In a counter-attack five minutes later, Paulo Dybala almost doubled Juventus' lead but his shot was saved by goalkeeper Thomas Strakosha. However, it wasn't long before Lazio's sloppiness in defence once again cost them.

From a corner kick, Alex Sandro provided the second assist when he chested the ball for Bonucci to score. A set piece situation according to Juventus's plan and the mistake belonged to defender Stefan de Vrij when he could not keep up with Bonucci's movements.

Lazio were the better side in the second half and had chances to score. However, both Felipe Anderson and Ciro Immobile were denied by excellent saves from Gianluigi Buffon's substitute Neto. Immobile's striker partner, Balde Diao Keita, also had a chance but shot over the bar.

Lazio were playing at home for the third time in five years in the Coppa Italia. However, Simone Inzaghi's side could not avenge their 2-1 extra-time defeat in the 2015 final. Lazio have not won a trophy since beating Roma to win the Coppa Italia in 2013 and Inzaghi has made this match a priority by resting several key players in last weekend's 3-2 defeat to Fiorentia in Serie A. Lazio are fourth in Serie A, four points ahead of Atalanta.

Juventus will win Serie A this weekend if they get three points against relegation-threatened Crotone.
