Chevrolet cars are discounted up to 70 million to stimulate demand

Chevrolet car prices are being reduced by 10-70 million VND to stimulate car purchases in the context of other brands such as Toyota, Honda, Ford... also having sharp reductions.

According to our research, the Chevrolet Spark small A-class car model is currently discounted by 10-20 million VND for the 5-seat passenger car version and almost no discount for the 2 2-seat Van versions. According to statistics from the Vietnam Automobile Manufacturers Association (VAMA), in the first 3 months of the year, although sales only reached 722 cars, Spark still had an increase of 42% compared to the same period last year.

Meanwhile, Chevrolet Aveo has reduced 30 million VND for both versions, the actual selling price at the dealer is from 429 - 465 million VND. Similar to Spark, although only 504 cars were sold, Aveo had an increase of 56% compared to the same period in 2016.

Chevrolet Trax 2017

Chevrolet's best-selling and most highly rated model in Vietnam at the moment is the C-class Chevrolet Cruze, which has a large discount of 50-60 million VND depending on the version. According to VAMA, Chevrolet Cruze's sales in the past 3 months reached 864 cars, up 22% over the same period last year. Although still in the top 5 best-selling C-class cars in Vietnam, Cruze's sales are only about 1/4 of its leading competitor, the Mazda3.

This April, the Orlando MPV and Captiva crossover only had a slight discount of 15-24 million VND. The Colorado pickup truck is the Chevrolet model with the highest discount at present, with a discount of 30-70 million VND depending on the version, the actual selling price is from 599 - 769 million VND. This is a highly anticipated model but sales have not been as expected. In the first 3 months of this year, Colorado achieved sales of 268 vehicles, an increase of 66% over the same period and entered the top 5 best-selling pickup trucks in the market but less than 1/10 of the sales of more than 3,000 vehicles of the leading competitor Ford Ranger.

The small urban SUV Trax alone only saw a price reduction of about 10 million VND this April. Although superior in every aspect compared to its competitor EcoSport, the high price is said to be the reason why Chevrolet Trax has had rather modest sales, reaching only 173 cars after 3 months of sales, equivalent to nearly 60 cars per month.
