Former US presidential candidate Hillary Clinton and six of her aides had access to state secrets, even after she left the position of Secretary of State in 2013. That was the announcement of Fox News channel quoting Republican Senator from Iowa Chuck Grassley.

According to the channel's data, Clinton's aides maintained access to classified documents, even when Clinton ran for President in April 2015. As the Senator said, Clinton's aides had access to the information under the pretext of working on her memoir.

However, Grassley noted that the opportunity to examine this rationale only arose after the Obama team left the White House.

"I have repeatedly asked the State Department whether the clearances of Secretary Clinton and her aides have been suspended or revoked, but the Obama administration has refused to answer my questions," Senator Grassley said in a March 30 letter to Secretary of State Rex Tillerson. According to him, former Secretary of State John Kerri ignored his requests in 2015 and 2016.
