At the invitation of General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping, President Tran Dai Quang and his wife arrived in Beijing today, beginning a state visit to China and attending the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation from May 11-15, according to VNA.
On the afternoon of May 11, an official welcoming ceremony for President Tran Dai Quang and his wife was held at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, according to the protocol reserved for heads of state. Chinese President Xi Jinping presided over the event.
At 5 p.m., the motorcade carrying President Tran Dai Quang and his wife entered the East Gate of the Great Hall of the People. Chinese President Xi Jinping invited President Tran Dai Quang to the podium. The military band played the Vietnamese and Chinese national anthems to the sound of 21 cannon salutes. Chinese children waved flags and flowers to welcome President Tran Dai Quang and his wife, along with the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation.
After the welcoming ceremony, the two sides moved to attend high-level talks in the East Room of the Great Hall of the People.
