"The moment the USS Michigan tries to move even a little, it will face a miserable fate, becoming a ghost under the sea, unable to rise to the surface," the propaganda website said.North Korea's Uriminzokkiri announced today.
"The emergency deployment of a nuclear submarine off the Korean peninsula at a time that coincides with the deployment of a supercarrier strike group is aimed at increasing the military threat to our republic," the website added.
The guided-missile submarine Michigan arrived at the port of Busan, South Korea, on April 25 before setting sail four days later. The Ohio-class submarine is believed to be conducting multiple exercises.
The US also deployed the nuclear-powered aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson to waters near South Korea at the same time. The ship is participating in joint exercises with the South Korean navy. North Korea has warned that it will turn the aircraft carrier and submarine into "scrap metal".
The threat came after North Korea failed to launch a ballistic missile yesterday. It was the third missile test this month by North Korea.
