China calls for an immediate halt to the process of putting the US THAAD anti-aircraft missile system into operational status in South Korea.

"China's stance on THAAD systems remains unchanged. We oppose the US deployment of such systems in South Korea and call on relevant parties to immediately stop this process. We are ready to take necessary measures to protect our interests," Geng said.

Previously, Russian media reported that the US had deployed THAAD systems to combat duty in South Korea, and this news was confirmed by Colonel Rob Manning, head of the press department of the US Army Command in South Korea.
