Division 324 trained to use improved SPG-9 guns

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of May 5, at Artillery Battalion 15, Division 324 (Military Region 4), training on the use of improved SPG-9 guns was conducted for officers from the battery to company level of affiliated units.

In 2017, Division 324 was the first unit of Military Region 4 to be equipped with the upgraded SPG-9 gun by the Ministry of National Defense to completely replace the DKZ82-B10 gun the unit was using. Through training, the quality of training, combat readiness, and absolute safety of people and technical equipment were ensured after switching to using the SPG-9 gun.

In preparation for participating in two live-fire drills in the defense areas of Thanh Hoa and Nghe An provinces, the training program aims to unify the organization, training methods, and combat of the improved SPG-9 gun for units throughout the Division.

The training content consists of 2 parts. Weapons part: General knowledge; Aiming part; Cannon body, breech, firing part; Cannon mount; Fuze. Operation part: Using, collecting cannon, aiming, loading, firing...; organization, responsibilities, equipment of the formation; preservation, maintenance, repair of conventional cannons.

At the end of the training, there will be practice shooting lesson 1 of the improved SPG-9 gun: The squad directly aimed at a non-moving target. The training program is divided into two phases: Phase 1 has 40 officers, from May 5 to 8. Phase 2 has 40 officers, from May 9 to 12, 2017.
