Goals: Slimani (69'), Vardy (78').

The King Power home team dominated and created many dangerous chances against Sunderland in the first half. Striker Okazaki and young talent Demarai Gray came very close to scoring, but luck and the excellence of goalkeeper Pickford helped the away team escape defeat in the first 45 minutes.

In the second half, the appearance of right winger Marc Albrighton brought a breakthrough for Leicester. First, he crossed the ball high and placed it on Slimani's head for the Algerian striker to open the scoring. Then Albrighton completed his double assist with a pass for Jamie Vardy to score against Sunderland.

This was Vardy's third consecutive Premier League goal and his fifth in Leicester's six wins since Ranieri's departure. Vardy's performance was in stark contrast to his previous form, having scored just six goals in all competitions under Ranieri this season.

Leicester's sixth straight win and fifth in the Premier League continues their winning run under new manager Shakespeare. The former champions have climbed from the relegation zone to the top half of the table. Leicester are currently 10th with 36 points, with eight games remaining to reach the 40-point mark.

In contrast to Leicester, Sunderland are in crisis and have no hope of staying in the league. Coach David Moyes' team is still at the bottom of the table and eight points from safety.

This is the sixth consecutive match that Sunderland has not tasted victory in the Premier League. In these six matches, the "Black Cats" have lost five and only won one draw.

Against Leicester, Sunderland had no chance of causing any problems for the home team. Their only significant opportunity came after they had already conceded two goals. Victor Anichebe's shot hit the woodwork and Jermain Defoe pounced on the rebound and it hit the side of the net.
