Two ringleaders arrested for a 900 billion VND football betting ring.

(Baonghean.vn) - Hung managed the KX573 account and organized gambling on this agency system for many years, involving a total of 900 billion VND.

The Economic Police Department (PC46 - Provincial Police) recently coordinated with the C50 Department (Ministry of Public Security) to dismantle an online football betting ring that had been operating for many years. The amount of money gambled by the bettors was equivalent to 900 billion VND.

On the morning of April 3rd, Colonel Nguyen Xuan Thiem, Head of PC46, stated that the provincial police are coordinating with C50 (Ministry of Public Security) to continue investigating and expanding Case 126B regarding online football betting.

Currently, the police are holding three individuals in custody: Tran The Hung (born in 1979, residing in Quang Trung Ward, Vinh City), Le Hong Trung (born in 1987, residing in Ben Thuy Ward), and Ngo Minh An (born in 1970, residing in Trung Do Ward) on charges of gambling through online football betting.

Hung and Trung were the two individuals who organized the gambling operation. An was one of the individuals involved in large-scale football betting.

Previously, through surveillance, the police determined that Tran The Hung managed the KX573 account, a Master Agent account specializing in organizing gambling on the bong88.com website.

Initial investigations indicate that football betting activities have been taking place from 2014 to the present. The total amount wagered is 22,894,360 points (each point equivalent to 40,000 VND), equivalent to 900 billion VND, with a total of 38,449 gambling transactions.

This main account has 6 agents and a total of 45 high-stakes gamblers in Vinh City who regularly participate in gambling through this main account system.

The gambler's account with the largest amount wagered had 6,299,311 points (approximately 250 billion VND), while the account with the biggest losses had 171,616 points (approximately 7 billion VND).

During a search of Hung and Trung's homes, police seized two laptops and five mobile phones containing a large amount of data related to the online football betting operation led by Tran The Hung.

In addition to organizing online football betting, this group also established a chain of pawn shops, financial lending businesses, and car dealerships in Nghe An and Ha Tinh provinces.

The investigation into this case is currently ongoing and being expanded.
