(Baonghean.vn) – Returning to coaching as head coach of the U15 National Team competing in the qualifying round taking place in Hue, Coach Ngo Quang Truong does not think this is an easy task. Because according to him, as a coach, everyone faces certain pressures. More importantly, it will be a stepping stone to help him feel confident for the road ahead.

PV:Hello Coach Ngo Quang Truong, congratulations on your two consecutive victories in the U15 National Qualifiers with U15 SLNA, especially the recent 3-1 victory over SHB Da Nang. After a while of saying goodbye to the SLNA first team, how do you feel now?

Coach Ngo Quang Truong:After 2 years of coaching in V. League, I have gained a lot of things and useful experiences. That is the goal I am aiming for. Anyway, the journey has helped me realize what I have done and what I have not done in the V. League environment, so that I can have opportunities in my coaching career in the future. That is the goal that any coach wants to have.

PV:What is the difference between leading a top-level football team and youth football, sir?

Coach Ngo Quang Truong:With young players, I want to teach them about technique, tactics, physical training, psychology and in addition, a lifestyle.

People often say that being a youth coach is more comfortable and less stressful, but that is not true at all. For anyone who is a coach, the first pressure is work pressure. At the age of 14-15, the children have not yet fully developed their personalities and must have good teaching skills to help them develop. Besides, every coach has to face the problem of pressure to achieve results.

I don’t work in top level football but youth training has its own problems. However, as a coach, it is also a joy and a motivation for me to pass on to the players.

In the National U15 qualifying round, SLNA was in the same group with U15 Hue, U15 SHB Da Nang and U15 Khanh Hoa. In which, the host Hue and SHB Da Nang became the "defeated generals" of coach Ngo Quang Truong and his team.

In the next match, the Nghe team will meet U15 Khanh Hoa before the end of the first leg. Looking at this year's force and the dedication of coach Ngo, the ticket to the final round is within reach of U15 SLNA if they can be themselves in the remaining 4 matches.

PV:You are currently considered the best qualified coach at the club, can you reveal your career plans to the fans?

Coach Ngo Quang Truong:Currently, I am studying for the Asian Football Confederation’s Professional Coaching Certificate course, which is expected to end at the end of this year. This “Pro” Coaching Certificate is the highest coaching certificate organized by AFC for the first time in Vietnam. In this course, I have access to new things, learned from the lecturers as well as colleagues who are working at V.League and national team levels.

PV:Is this course going to be a new plan for your coaching career?

Coach Ngo Quang Truong:It is also an honor to be able to attend this course. As a coach, going to school is never too much because football is developing and innovating every day. I see this as a great opportunity not only for coaches in V.League but for all those who follow this profession.

When we learn, we will be more confident, stronger and have more knowledge in this job. In this profession, everyone wants to reach new heights. And all that I am trying at the present time is for that reason.

PV:In this year's qualifying round, how do you evaluate the opponents and opportunities of U15 SLNA?

Coach Ngo Quang Truong:I often encourage my players to play calmly with all they have, not to get too emotional or excited and get caught up in the match. The opponents in Group B with U15 SLNA cannot be compared to Viettel, VPF or Hanoi. However, we cannot be subjective and must be careful and try our best in every match.

PV:Thank you for this conversation and wish you and U15 SLNA good results!
