Mountainous male student wins special prize for Youth and Children's Creativity

This software integrates many functions to help users use resources on the system, such as learning English through songs; Entering formulas to quickly draw graphs; sharing and easily searching for mathematical formulas...

Cuong started to explore this product since July 2013 and had to go through many trials and failures. However, the poor student from the district school did not disappoint everyone because after many "performances", the product was recognized and highly appreciated and was awarded many awards such as: First Prize of Nghe An Youth Informatics, First Prize of Nghe An Science and Technology Competition 2016...

Sharing the reason for choosing the topic, Cuong said: Vietnam is a developing country and has potential for information technology human resources. In the integration period, there is a great need for products with origin "made in Vietnam". That can help Vietnamese people use easily with similar features produced abroad.

After one year of launching, the Nghe An Province Youth and Children's Creativity Contest 2017 has had hundreds of products conceptualized and completed. Of these, 101 products were selected to participate in the final round and the 52 best products were selected for judging.

Many of the products are the work of primary school students. Among this year's products, some have participated in many competitions. However, many of the products are very new, meeting the criteria of the award: novelty, creativity, applicability, thinking and ability to present and apply in life.

The product “Smart fire alarm for every home” by students Le Cong Chinh, Do Tam Linh An, Duong The Ngoc of Tay Hieu High School is one of them. The product was conceived from the reality when in just a short time, many tragic fires occurred across the country.

To limit this situation, a group of students born in 2000 invented a fire alarm product with the function of quickly detecting fire, warning with sound and calling a pre-set phone number; activating the fire extinguishing system if the temperature in the room increases beyond the allowable threshold.

The product is simple to manufacture, effective, low cost, easy to use, install and can be used for agencies, enterprises and families. This is 1 of 3 products awarded First Prize by the Organizing Committee.

Promote students' creativity

Speaking at the award ceremony, Mr. Tran Van Toan - General Secretary of the Union of Science and Technology Associations affirmed: Through three times of organization, the Youth and Children's Creativity Contest of Nghe An province has aroused the potential and promoted the creative thinking of young people and children; directed young people and children into scientific and technological activities, contributing their efforts and intelligence to research, innovation, improving the quality of work, study, production, and creating many practical and useful products to serve production and life.

From the above successes, at the closing ceremony, the Union of Science and Technology Associations together with the Department of Science and Technology, the Department of Education and Training, and the Provincial Youth Union also launched the 2018 Nghe An Province Youth and Children Creativity Contest. The contest is open to all youth, teenagers, and children aged 6-19 who are living, working, and studying in the province. The launching time is from May 2017 to April 2018.

At the end of the contest, the Organizing Committee awarded 1 special prize, 3 first prizes, 5 second prizes, 12 third prizes and 32 consolation prizes.

In addition, 6 collective awards were given to the Department of Education and Training of Thanh Chuong, Do Luong, Nguyen Canh Chan High School, Hoang Mai High School, Tay Hieu High School and Nghi Loc 3 High School.

The works that win the special prize, first prize and second prize will be selected to participate in the National Youth and Children's Creativity Contest held in Hanoi in October 2017.
