The draft General Education Program divides general education into two stages: basic and career orientation. Grade 10 students begin to be oriented towards future careers. In the new program, students have the opportunity to choose subjects according to their abilities and strengths, in addition to compulsory subjects such as: Math, Literature, Foreign Language... (full text of the draft).

However, besides the positive notes, the draft of the General General Program received many mixed opinions. The most concerned issue is that the program is still heavy compared to the world; too many new subjects disrupt teaching and learning; criteria on students' abilities and qualities are still general and unreasonable... In particular, the implementation of the program in 2018 made the public worried that the teaching staff and facilities have not been renewed in time.
