A commentary in the Rodong Sinmun daily, the mouthpiece of the Workers' Party of Korea, stressed that eliminating the conservative group would be a shortcut to new politics and life for South Korea.

The commentary said: “The Korean people need to pass judgment on the puppet group of conservatives, accomplices of Ms. Park Geun-hye, in this election as they have punished Ms. Park.”

South Korea will hold a presidential election on May 9 to choose a successor to former President Park Geun-hye, who was ousted in March. Park is a conservative politician.

According to the latest opinion polls, candidate Moon Jae-in of the liberal Democratic Party is leading over candidates Hong Joon-pyo of the conservative Liberty Korea Party and Ahn Cheol-soo of the center-left People's Party./.
