'We cannot let priest Dang Huu Nam continue to disregard the law'

(Baonghean.vn) - With clear evidence that Dang Huu Nam, disguised as a priest, committed acts of sabotage and went against the revolutionary line, veterans of Quynh Lam commune, Quynh Luu district requested the Party and State to punish and strictly handle him according to the law.

Faced with the distorted and falsified arguments of priest Dang Huu Nam about the day of Southern liberation and national reunification on April 30, on May 4, the Veterans Associations of the communes of Quynh Lam, Quynh Ngoc, Quynh Thuan, Tien Thuy, Quynh Hong, Quynh Doi... all simultaneously held conferences to strongly condemn his actions of distorting history.

Attending the veterans of Quynh Lam commune, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Dinh - Member of Branch 7 expressed: The history of the Vietnamese nation has never had a good state regime like the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, which brings rights, freedom, happiness, and improves the lives of the people. However, Mr. Dang Huu Nam, disguised as a priest, has committed acts of sabotage against the revolution, going against the Party and State's policies...

"I request the Party and State to strongly condemn, oppose, and punish priest Dang Huu Nam according to the provisions of state law," Mr. Dinh said.

As for veteran Dang Ngoc Bich - member of branch 8, he expressed: "We are veterans who had to go through life and death to bring about independence. Yet today, the reactionary priest Dang Huu Nam has tarnished the honor and touched the self-respect of veterans who are nearly 90 years old like us. I request that the State, with its authority, must arrest Dang Huu Nam and handle him according to the law."

Veterans from Quynh Thuan, Quynh Ngoc, Tien Thuy, Quynh Doi, and Quynh Hong communes all expressed their indignation and anger at the defamatory and historical distortion of priest Dang Huu Nam, parish priest of Phu Yen, An Hoa commune, Quynh Luu district; and at the same time requested the State to strictly handle him according to the law.

“This time there is clear evidence that priest Dang Huu Nam is extremely reactionary, daring to deny the sacred resistance of the nation; discarding the merits and blood of all classes of people, heroic martyrs. This not only makes war veterans but all the people very angry. We cannot let ungrateful people like Dang Huu Nam continue to overwhelm and disregard the law” - Mr. Tran Dinh Nghinh, a war veteran of Quynh Thuan commune, was indignant.

Mr. Tran Van Thanh - Chairman of the Quynh Ngoc Veterans Association suggested: "The State must strictly handle priest Dang Huu Nam to protect our honor, as veterans who fought to regain this independence."

At the end of the meeting, the Veterans Association of Quynh Lam, Quynh Ngoc, Quynh Thuan, Tien Thuy, Quynh Hong, and Quynh Doi communes passed a resolution to protest against Mr. Dang Huu Nam, parish priest of Phu Yen, An Hoa commune; and at the same time requested Vinh Diocese and Thuan Nghia Wardens to take measures to prevent Father Dang Huu Nam's illegal acts.

The war veterans also requested Mr. Dang Huu Nam to strictly comply with the law, not to have words that incite parishioners to do illegal acts; to apologize to the people and war veterans of Quynh Luu district in particular and war veterans and people across the country in general for his words and actions that distort the history and traditions of April 30 of the Vietnamese people;
