Opening of the 2017 Rivers Connecting Song Festival

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of May 18, in Vinh city, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism coordinated with the People's Committee of Nghe An province to organize a mass art performance "Songs connecting rivers".

The 2017 mass art performance “Songs connecting rivers” was held from May 17-19, 2017, on the occasion of the 127th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh’s birthday and the 2017 Sen Village Festival, towards the 60th anniversary of Uncle Ho’s first visit to his hometown.

This year’s festival has the theme “Offering Folk Songs to You” with the participation of 9 mass art troupes. In addition to the mass art troupes of 6 provinces in the North Central region, there are also the participation of provinces outside the region, such as the mass art troupes of Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and Cao Bang province.

The mass art performance “The Ho Songs Connecting the Rivers” is held every two years, providing a competition for mass art troupes; an opportunity for actors and artists to demonstrate their talents and artistic passion, exchange and learn to improve their creativity and strengthen solidarity between provinces and cities throughout the country./.
