The accident occurred at 2:30 a.m. on National Highway 1A, passing through Hamlet 17, Dien Yen Commune, Dien Chau District. A truck with license plate 37C 093.49 collided with a motorbike driven by Ms. Nguyen Thi Diep (residing in Dien Van, Dien Chau) who was transporting salt for sale. The collision caused Ms. Diep to die on the spot.
