JICA Chief Representative likes to travel to Nghe An for 2 days at the beach and 2 days in the mountains

(Baonghean.vn) - From the perspective of a tourist coming to Nghe An, the Chief Representative of JICA Vietnam wants to spend the first 2 days fishing in coastal districts and the next 2 days experiencing tourism in the mountainous district of Con Cuong.

On behalf of the provincial leaders, Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Dac Vinh welcomed the visit and work of the JICA delegation in Nghe An - one of the Vietnamese provinces that JICA has given the most support in the agricultural sector.

He believes that the areas in which Japan has supported Vietnam in general and Nghe An in particular will continue to have strong development.

“With the cooperation and support from JICA, we see that Nghe An’s agricultural sector has many opportunities to make breakthroughs, moving towards agricultural products with higher productivity, quality and value. Nghe An can completely become a raw material area for Japanese manufacturing enterprises, and thus Nghe An farmers have better opportunities to consume agricultural products,” he affirmed.

The Provincial Party Secretary expressed his hope that JICA will continue to support and help Nghe An province develop in many fields, especially agriculture.

Speaking at the meeting, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Xuan Duong hoped that JICA would continue to pay attention to not only the projects that have been invested in but also the upcoming projects in Nghe An. In addition, he also expressed his hope that JICA would create favorable conditions for Nghe An and the sister province of Gifu of Japan to cooperate in many fields with more results.

The head of the provincial People's Committee also proposed that JICA consider supporting the project of preventing salinity and preserving fresh water on Lam River, which is important for the agricultural development of Nghe An and Ha Tinh, and supporting the tourism planning of Nghe An in general and Nam Dan in particular.

JICA representative, Mr. Fujita Yasuo, said that through the visit, it can be seen that Nghe An plays an important role in the country's agricultural development, and highly appreciates the locality's potential in developing the value of agricultural products.

The head of the JICA delegation commented that, in addition to agricultural development, Nghe An possesses great potential in tourism as well as many other fields, and pledged that JICA will continue to provide strong support to serve the local development.

Mr. Yasuo said: “Nghe An has many famous tourist attractions, both in terms of culture, history and nature. JICA has sent tourism development experts to Nghe An to conduct surveys, and in the projects being proposed for implementation, there is a proposal to use local products as gifts for tourists, and at the same time design adventure tours to Con Cuong… JICA hopes that the provincial leaders will continue to pay attention to developing the Con Cuong tourism development project, as well as replicating the model to other localities.”

Putting himself in the perspective of a foreign tourist, he expressed: "If I were a tourist coming to Nghe An, I would spend the first 2 days fishing in the coastal districts, and the next 2 days experiencing tourism in the mountainous district of Con Cuong."

Also at the meeting, the two sides discussed and made other specific proposals related to projects in Nghe An province that are receiving loans or technical support from JICA such as the project to restore and upgrade the Northern Nghe An irrigation works, technical assistance projects and grassroots projects, contributing to ensuring the progress and effectiveness of these projects.
