According to the agency, in two letters sent to the Secretary-General and the President of the UN Security Council, the Syrian Foreign Ministry condemned the coalition airstrike on Friday (May 26) on the residential area of Al-Mayadin city in Deir ez-Zor province, northeastern Syria, killing 35 civilians.

According to this information, the Syrian Foreign Ministry called on the Security Council to implement the resolution on the territorial integrity of Syria and stop the illegal actions of the coalition. The Syrian Foreign Ministry considers it necessary to condemn this action of the coalition as contrary to the UN Security Council resolution and international humanitarian law. Damascus believes that the aggressive actions of the coalition support those who "only want to kill innocent Syrians."

The letter stressed that some Western countries, permanent members of the Security Council, influenced the Council when adopting measures on the Syrian crisis.

According to the Foreign Ministry, the "misguided behavior" of countries such as France, Britain and the United States are the main reasons for the ongoing crisis in Syria. And the policies of countries in the region, such as Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Turkey, have contributed to promoting and supporting terrorism, "which is terrorism that targets other countries, such as the recent terrorist attack in Manchester".
