More than 3,400 Tan Ky residents were screened and given free medicine.

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of May 8, Nghe An Eye Hospital organized a program to screen and provide free medicine for eye diseases for the elderly in Tan Huong Town and Commune (Tan Ky).

In one day, the working group screened nearly 400 people, thereby detecting some people with glaucoma, classified patients with cataracts, pterygium, entropion and other eye diseases, established monitoring records and developed plans for cataract surgeries, reducing the number of people with glaucoma.

In the coming days, the delegation of Nghe An Eye Hospital will organize screening examinations for more than 3,000 elderly people in 22 communes and towns of Tan Ky district. After screening examinations and health care consultations, each person will be given free medicine. This is a meaningful activity for people with eye diseases, while reducing the rate of blindness in the community./.
