Just pooled money to buy security cameras, people caught thieves right away

Attending the conference were comrades: Nguyen Hoai An - Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of Vinh City People's Committee; Colonel Tran Ngoc Tu - Head of Vinh City Police;representatives of the provincial police departments,City Police professional teams; leaders of wards and communes, along with Party committees and executive committees of Trung Do ward blocks. |
As one of the central wards of Vinh City, Trung Do has many key projects and important traffic routes. In recent times, the security and order situation in the area has been basically stable, with no complicated incidents or hot spots of security and order forming.for many years. However, there are still potential factors that affect local security and order.
In the face of the above situation, implementing the plans of the superiors as well as the resolutions and plans of the Ward People's Committee on the work of building a movement for the whole people to protect national security, Trung Do Ward has determined the key task to focus on directing in 2017 is to build a community camera system as a model in the movement for the whole people to protect national security to register for implementation. This is the first model to be implemented in Vinh City and Nghe An Province.

With the form of socialization, the model has received enthusiastic support from the people with an average contribution of 100 thousand VND per household, some households donated up to 3 million VND, the total amount collected was 234 million VND.
Trung Do Ward conducted a survey of installation locations, internet connection and power sources for cameras. Then, they were installed in key, sensitive and complicated areas and routes in terms of security and order. Currently, the ward has installed a server system including 2 screens at the ward police headquarters and 62/100 cameras in the community, reaching over 60%. It is expected that by the end of June, Trung Do Ward will complete as planned.

At the launching ceremony, delegates listened to representatives of the ward's blocks share experiences in propaganda and mobilizing people to participate in installing cameras, providing power sources, internet connections, etc.; the supplier representative demoed some features of the security camera system being installed at some locations.
Speaking at the conference, comrade Nguyen Hoai An highly appreciated the success of Trung Do ward, considering it a model of responsibility of the officers and people in the ward. The camera system not only helps people feel more secure but also helps the ward leaders promptly detect and handle risks of insecurity and disorder, creating favorable conditions for security agencies in handling, investigating and prosecuting if any problems occur.
The Chairman of the City People's Committee suggested that after this conference, leaders of other units should learn and gain experience to promptly implement this very practical model.
