Reward for the project to arrest the subject who stole property in the church 12 times

(Baonghean.vn) - Lai confessed that between mid-February and late March 2017, he committed 12 robberies at Catholic churches in Yen Thanh and Dien Chau districts.

On the afternoon of May 5, the provincial police leaders came to congratulate and reward the 37KT Task Force for arresting the suspect who caused a series of property thefts at Catholic churches in the area.

Accordingly, from the second half of February and the second half of March 2017, in Yen Thanh and Dien Chau districts, many cases of property loss occurred at Catholic churches, causing outrage among the general public and the majority of parishioners in particular.

Project 37KT was established to fight and clarify the subject. After nearly 1 month of focused investigation, the police identified the perpetrator as Ha Van Lai (born in 1986, residing in Xuan An hamlet, Hong Thanh commune, Yen Thanh district).

Although the subject had fled to Laos, with many professional measures and the help of the Laotian police, Lai was arrested and extradited back to his country.

At the investigation agency, Lai confessed to committing 12 robberies at churches in Yen Thanh and Dien Chau districts.

Colonel Nguyen Manh Hung - Deputy Director of the Provincial Police praised the achievements of the Project Team. The success of the project has contributed to stabilizing the psychology of the majority of people, especially local parishioners.
