Dam Vinh Hung withdraws from game show with Phuong Thanh as judge

Dam Vinh Hung set a condition that he would only sit on the judge's chair with Phuong Thanh in a few episodes of the I Can Do That competition. When the organizers did not agree, Mr. Dam withdrew from the hot seat.

The singer of Tuoi Hong Tho Naive told a newspaper that the organizers were using his name to stir up public opinion and create attention for the program. He said that the crew came to his house to get the schedule, negotiate conditions, remuneration and time.

"Everything is done, I've been waiting forever for the contract to arrive, my agent has also sent me an email reminding me and waiting for official confirmation whether to do it or not to arrange my work schedule to avoid conflicting with other shows," Dam Vinh Hung said.

"After that, the organizers sent another team to negotiate again from the beginning, then remained silent. That's why the company Tiếng Hát Việt sent an email to inform that they did not accept to participate in this game show. Next, who they invite is their business," he explained.

However, after the singer's statement, the organizers issued a contrary announcement. The program's representative said they had contacted Dam Vinh Hung to have a meeting to discuss the matter, but he did not answer the phone.

“From the beginning, the organizers really wanted singer Dam Vinh Hung to sit in the hot seat of the game show, so they arranged the filming schedule for the entire program to suit Dam Vinh Hung's time requirements. In the end, we agreed on a contract that both sides agreed on, but at that time, Dam Vinh Hung was touring abroad, so we had to wait for him to come back and sign,” the producer affirmed in a press release.

In addition to negotiating with The Voice coach, the organizers also invited Phuong Thanh to sit in the hot seat with the hope that "the program will be truly attractive with two judges who are two figures with a certain position and standing in the Vietnamese entertainment industry".

The organizers confirmed that "Ms. Chanh" happily agreed to participate and declared that "all personal matters will be left behind the scenes, the rest will not affect the program".

But the show's representative revealed that after Dam Vinh Hung returned home, the crew contacted him to finalize the contract, but the singer made many demands. Notably, he only agreed to sit with Phuong Thanh in one or two episodes. "But after sitting through all the game show episodes, Dam Vinh Hung asked to withdraw," the announcement said.

Also according to the press release, the singer of "The Wedding Ring" added a condition that the judges sitting with Dam Vinh Hung must have his approval.

The organizers said this went against the program's criteria, because Dam Vinh Hung was only a member of the jury, and there were two other judges besides him, so they continued to negotiate but failed. The announcement stated that because the two sides could not agree on their views, they stopped cooperating before the press conference on April 5.
