The People's Committee of Da Nang City said that Mr. Dam's trip was personal in nature and did not involve any authorities in Da Nang.
After inspecting the illegal construction project of 40 villa foundations built without permission at the Tien Sa Marine Ecotourism Project, Mr. Dam continued to go around Son Tra peninsula from Tien Sa direction through Linh Ung pagoda.
On the way, a photographer who specializes in taking pictures of red-shanked douc langurs met Mr. Dam and asked him if he had seen any langurs. Mr. Dam said he "didn't just see one, but 5-6".

Meanwhile, at 3:00 p.m. the same day, the People's Committee of Da Nang City held a meeting with all departments related to Son Tra planning to prepare for the working session on the afternoon of May 28 in Hanoi.
