While bathing the cows, grandfather and 3 grandchildren tragically drowned.
While herding the cows to the river to bathe, the grandfather was struggling in the water. His 3 grandchildren saw this and rushed to save him, but unfortunately all 4 of them were in trouble.
A serious drowning incident that killed four people occurred in the Ben Don River area, in Phu My village (Tay Phu commune, Tay Son district, Binh Dinh).

The four victims were identified as: Mr. Van Tan Lanh (born in 1949, maternal grandfather) and three grandchildren: Nguyen Thi Phuong Thanh (born in 2003), Nguyen Tuyet Bang (born in 2005, both residing in Phu My village) and Tran Thanh Tuan (born in 2008, residing in Phu Van block, Phu Phong town, Tay Son district).
According to Mr. Huynh Quoc Tien, Chief of Tay Phu Commune Police, the incident happened at around 11:30 am on June 2. At that time, Mr. Lanh and his 3 grandchildren herded the cows to the Ben Don River area in Phu My village to bathe the cows.
While bathing, Mr. Lanh slipped into deep water. His three grandchildren were playing on the shore and saw their grandfather struggling in the water, so they rushed out to save him, but unfortunately all four of them drowned.
After the incident, Vice Chairman of Tay Son District People's Committee Bui Van My visited, shared the loss with the family and supported the family with 4 million VND.
