Decoding the red button on Mr. Trump's desk at the White House

While there has been much speculation that the red button on US President Donald Trump's White House desk is an emergency button that would order a nuclear attack, that is not the case.

According to the newspaperIndependentOn the desk of US President Donald Trump in the Oval Office is a small wooden box with a red button on it.

Mr. Trump revealed this button in an interview with the news agency.APin the Oval Office recently ahead of his 100th day in office.

Reporter Julian Pace ofAPAs soon as Mr. Trump pressed this button, a waiter brought him a glass of soda in the Oval Office. “By pressing the red button on the desk that American presidents have used for decades, a White House waiter will quickly bring the soda,” Pace wrote.

In other words, the button is used to summon a servant whenever the president needs it. Of course, this wooden box can be moved anywhere, anytime. Former President Barack Obama was also seen sitting next to this button during meetings in the Oval Office when he was in office.

This is not the first time Mr. Trump has revealed his preference for fast food and carbonated soft drinks. In January, a reporter forCNNshared a photo showing him sitting in front of a table with fast food and soda while on the phone.
