Plane crashes into truck, 8 people injured

On May 20, an Aeromexico passenger plane hit a truck on the taxiway of Los Angeles International Airport.

The Los Angeles Fire Department said the incident occurred just minutes after Aeromexico Flight 642 landed at Los Angeles International Airport at around 2:30 p.m. on May 20 (local time).

Eight people on the truck were injured, Reuters news agency quoted authorities as saying. The crash damaged the Boeing 737's right wing and caused the truck to flip onto its side. The cause of the incident is under investigation.

The injured included two women and six men, said Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Brian Humphrey. All were taken to hospitals for treatment. None of their injuries were life-threatening, Humphrey added.

None of the approximately 150 passengers and crew on board the plane required medical help, the official said. However, an airport statement said one passenger reported feeling pain after disembarking.
