Nghe An: More than 31,000 tons of cement for rural traffic

Village Chief xMinh Son hamlet, Ky Son commune (Tan Ky), Mr.Truong Quang Nhan said: On April 5, the hamlet received 250 tons of cement from the government. This time, Ky Son commune prioritized cement for concrete roads on the main roads of the hamlets. However, because the amount of cement was only 1,050 tons, the commune distributed it to 9/11 hamlets, the roads were designed into 2 levels: Level A road is 3.5 m wide, 18 cm thick; Level B road is 3 m wide, 16 cm thick.

In Linh Son commune (Anh Son district), the concrete roads are unfinished and cement, sand, and gravel are being gathered on both sides of the road. Mr. Nguyen Sy Tuan in hamlet 10, Linh Son commune said: His family contributed more than 3 million VND for the hamlet to buy sand and gravel to make concrete roads.
Mr. Pham Van Quy - Chairman of Linh Son Commune People's Committee added: At the end of 2016, the locality received 900 tons of cement, which was distributed to hamlets to build 5.4 km of rural roads. Thus, the commune still lacks 150 tons of cement according to the provincial standard, allocated to each commune registered to reach the NTM target of 1,050 tons. Due to the urgency of the locality, this time the District People's Committee supported Linh Son with 200 tons of cement to pour concrete for 1.3 km of road in hamlets 10 and 11.

Not only Tan Ky and Anh Son, but also from the lowlands to the highlands, during this off-season, localities take advantage of receiving cement for people to build rural roads.
Immediately after the Provincial People's Committee issued Decision No. 800/QD-UBND, dated March 6, 2017, on assigning the target of supporting cement for rural traffic construction in the 6th phase of 2017 to districts, cities and towns, on March 7, 2017, the Department of Finance issued a notice to cement suppliers in the province and the People's Committees of districts about the plan to allocate cement for rural traffic construction in 2017. The amount of cement allocated by the Provincial People's Committee this phase is 31,500 tons. Up to now, 20 communes that signed a commitment with the Provincial People's Committee to reach the NTM target in 2017 have proactively registered and received cement to deploy concrete pouring on rural roads. |
