After 2017, there are subjects that appear for the first time.
According to the draft of the new general education program that has just been announced, there will be a number of new subjects that aim to reduce knowledge load, increase creative experience and career orientation.
The new program implements comprehensive, integrated education at primary and secondary levels, and differentiated and elective education at high school level.
Accordingly, at the primary and secondary levels, related contents of a number of educational fields and subjects in the current curriculum will be integrated to form integrated subjects; streamlining and avoiding overlapping educational content will be implemented. At the high school level, students will be required to study a number of compulsory subjects, and at the same time, they will be able to choose their own subjects and topics of study in the form of credit accumulation.
Here are the new subjects that will appear in students' timetables after 2017:

Professor Nguyen Minh Thuyet, Editor-in-Chief of the general education program, said: “Foreign language 2 is an open list, but it must be a foreign language that has a training program approved by the Ministry of Education and Training, has textbooks, and has teachers to be included. This subject is to meet the needs of gifted students or students who find it difficult to take the entrance exam to universities with English subjects, study and take exams in other subjects related to other foreign languages. Students in areas with many economic relations with foreign countries can also study, for example, border areas with countries like China,…”
