Prosecution of the case of the subject who used a crossbow to shoot and injure 3 people

(Baonghean.vn) - On May 13, Lieutenant Colonel Vi Van Giang - Chief of Que Phong District Police (Nghe An) said that the Investigation Police Department has decided to prosecute Phan Van Viet for intentionally causing injury.

The incident was determined: At noon on May 5, 2017, Phan Van Viet carried a crossbow loaded with arrows and a knife from his house to the Kim Son market intersection (Que Phong district), causing chaos on the road. Here, Viet used a crossbow to shoot and injured 3 people while participating in traffic.

Immediately after receiving the information from the public, Que Phong District Police in collaboration with Kim Son Town Police quickly arrested the subject. When discovering Viet was on his way home, the police persuaded him but the subject resisted, intending to shoot a crossbow at the police, but the police force promptly controlled him and escorted him to the headquarters.

At the police station, Phan Van Viet confessed that before committing the crime, he had used drugs.

“Up to this point, the health of the 3 victims has stabilized, 1 person has had a 1% disability assessment result, the remaining 2 will have results tomorrow (May 14). Also tomorrow, the Investigation Police will prosecute and temporarily detain Phan Van Viet” - Lieutenant Colonel Giang added.
