Bell casting ceremony at the ancient pagoda in Thanh Chuong land

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of June 11, at Nguu Tu Pagoda, Dung town (Thanh Chuong), a grand ceremony was held to cast the great bell, inaugurate the main hall and install the Buddha statue.

Attending the ceremony were representatives of the Department of Home Affairs; Provincial Police; leaders of Thanh Chuong district and a large number of monks, nuns and Buddhists inside and outside the province.

Nguu Tu Pagoda in Ha village, Thanh Dong commune (now in block 10 of Dung town) is an ancient pagoda with hundreds of years of history, associated with the relics of Ba Chua temple and Ha village communal house. During the war, Nguu Tu Pagoda was damaged, leaving only the yard as a vestige. In 2014, Nghe An Provincial People's Committee approved the restoration of this pagoda.

After nearly 2 years of mobilizing, donating and constructing, from a vacant lot, Nguu Tu Pagoda with 5 wooden houses, 2-storey tiled roof, large, beautiful, solemn has been restored. To rebuild the pagoda, the organizing committee mobilized contributions and donations in cash, materials (cement, stone, brick, tile) from many groups, individuals, businesses, philanthropists, Thanh Chuong children far from home, pagodas in the South...

The temple was built at a cost of billions of dong, the wood alone cost 2.1 billion dong.

In the joy of the great ceremony, the delegates, monks, abbots, and many Buddhists cut the ribbon to inaugurate the main hall of Ngu Tu Pagoda, solemnly performed the Buddha statue installation ceremony. At the end of the ceremony, the casting of the great bell weighing over 1 ton took place.

According to Venerable Thich Quang Bao - Head of the Cultural Committee - Vietnam Buddhist Sangha Executive Committee of Nghe An province, after completing the items, Nguu Tu Pagoda will be a beautiful pagoda, together with Ba Chua Temple, becoming an attractive historical, cultural and religious relic cluster in Thanh Chuong town.
