(Baonghean.vn) - At around 4 p.m. on May 4, people living in the border area between Chau Kim and Muong Noc communes (Que Phong district) suddenly heard loud explosions. The explosions were located at the foot of Chau Kim bridge, where the Ta Tao river flows through.

After regaining their composure, many people realized that it was a mine explosion to catch fish by some local people. On the river after the mine exploded, many young men jumped into the river to dive and pick up fish, even women joined in.

It is worth mentioning that the explosion was only about 1.5km as the crow flies from the headquarters of the People's Committee of Que Phong district and about 300m from the People's Committee of Chau Kim commune.
